Practical Japanese Language Course
Japanese Language for IT Business Course
I majored in Electrical Engineering at the university, and after graduating I joined a major IT company. I was in charge of Software-related Research and Development and New Product Development.
After leaving this company, I acquired a Japanese Language Teacher Qualification in 2015. I worked as a Japanese Language Teacher in Vietnam (Hai Phong City) for 2 years.
I taught Japanese language to about 500 people from beginner to advanced level.
Since returning to Japan, I have been teaching Japanese language to international students living in Japan.
At AG JLTS, I am in charge of the Practical Japanese Language Course and the Japanese Language for IT Business Course.
Akihiko Hara
Practical Japanese Language Course
In 1980, I joined a large Japanese technology company. I started my career as a Mechanical Designer. I mainly worked in the Development Department. I have a great experience of working with foreign companies and foreigners as head of the Development Department.
In 2012, when I was General Manager of the Development Department, I moved to California in Silicon Valley to manage a few subsidiaries.
I became a Japanese teacher in September 2020. I teach office workers at a French company. I love teaching Japanese and supporting foreigners who work in Japanese companies and who have enthusiasm for their own growth.
Akira Agata
Japanese Language for IT Business Course
After being in charge of Product Planning and Business Strategy at a major IT company in Japan, I was in charge of managing the Offshore Development Center in Shanghai and Business Development in the Asia-Pacific region in Singapore.
In these jobs, I worked with many foreign employees and achieved good results with them, but realized that language barriers and cultural differences were a heavy burden for everyone.
After that, I changed jobs for a large American company and experienced intercultural exchanges with colleagues from countries all over the world.
Through my experience living in China and Asia and working for an American company, I teach Japanese to students who are active in Japanese companies and foreign-owned Japanese corporations, sometimes using Chinese and English.
There is no doubt that my lessons through my management and intercultural exchange experiences will be of great help to foreigners working with Japanese people.
Tamami Ishikawa
Practical Japanese Language Course
As a first experience as a teacher, I taught Japanese language and manners to foreigners when I was a university student. After graduating from college, I worked as a sales assistant for several years. At that time, I wanted to exchange more with foreigners about Japanese culture.
Furthermore, since a lot of foreigners live in my area, I thought they probably needed to learn Japanese for their everyday life and work. Thus, I decided to take the Japanese Language Education Proficiency Test in 2019. After passing the exam, I took a 420-hour training course to acquire all the necessary knowledge to become a Japanese teacher.
I like to take advantage of teaching Japanese to impart knowledge about Japanese culture to my students. I think it is important to know the culture of the country whose language they are learning to increase their motivation and go as far as possible together.
Hiroko Cartier
Practical Japanese Language Course
After graduating from college, I started my career as a fashion designer.
Then I became a freelance dance instructor and English teacher in 2016.
I’ve taught English to more than 1500 students at colleges, companies, and English language schools.
Woking at these locations provided me with opportunities to teach a diverse range of students between the ages of 17 to 78. Through this experience, I also learned various teaching methods as well as Second Language Acquisition (SLA).
I’ve worked as an English personal coach for the past three years. Helping students overcome difficulties they may have, and boosting their motivation and productivity.
My husband inspired me to teach Japanese while he was studying for the JLPT. I passed the Japanese Language Education Proficiency Test in 2021.
I’m very passionate about teaching. I would love to share tips on how to learn Japanese quickly and effectively. I will do my best to make our classes as enjoyable as possible!

I majored in industrial psychology at university and joined a major Japanese company. I worked for that company for 39 years, including 17 years in three foreign countries and traveling to many others. I worked mainly in human resources and administration with people from different countries on company operations, employment, skills, and compensation.
Toward the end of my career, I worked as a head of an overseas organization, which led me to work as a management consultant for five years after I left the company.
Since I was greatly helped abroad by foreigners who spoke Japanese, and the Japanese culture is unique, in 2023, I became certified to teach Japanese in order to help people communicate better with Japanese in various situations, not only on language issues.
